Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Short version: FocusLock does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything happens locally in your browser. There are no servers, no accounts, and no tracking.
1. What data we collect
None. FocusLock does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage analytics.
2. How the extension works
Your blocklist, timer settings, and schedule are stored locally using the browser's storage (synced across your own devices via your browser account if sync is enabled). This data is never sent to us or any third party.
When a site on your blocklist is opened during an active focus session or schedule, FocusLock redirects that tab to a local block page bundled inside the extension. No browsing data is recorded or transmitted.
3. Permissions
- storage: Saves your blocklist, timer durations, and schedule on your device.
- alarms: Powers the Pomodoro timer and schedule checks.
- declarativeNetRequest: Redirects blocked sites to the local block page. The browser enforces this declaratively — the extension never reads the content of your requests.
- notifications: Shows a notification when a focus session or break ends.
- activeTab: Reads the current tab's address only when you click "Block current site", so it can add that site to your list.
- Host access (per site): Granted by you, one site at a time, only for the domains you choose to block. This is required for blocking to work and is requested when you add a site.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties — because we do not collect any.
5. Network requests
FocusLock makes zero network requests to operate. The extension works fully offline.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
